Ghent, Belgium -- March 3, 2021 -- iText, a global leader in innovative award-winning PDF software, today announced the introduction of their executive leadership team—Gary Fry (Chief Executive Officer), Tony Van den Zegel (Chief Revenue Officer), Raf Hens (Chief Technology Officer), Jacob Quartier (Chief Financial Officer), and Olivier Van den Broecke (Chief People Officer).

Collectively, all C-suite members bring with them extensive experience in technology and management, that will enable iText to expand beyond their commanding position in PDF software to achieve their vision as leaders in Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).

The compilation of the executive management team introduces a new level of maturity and growth for iText. The company, which is owned by Crescendo, a private equity firm sponsored by Thiel Capital, is creating new opportunities for accelerated growth via both the core technologies and new advancements.

Chief Executive Officer, Gary Fry, brings more than 20 years of extensive leadership expertise in the document technology industry to his role as CEO, setting the vision and driving business through the next chapter of iText’s global growth. Prior to iText, Fry held senior management positions at Adobe and was CEO at Global Graphics.

As the Chief Revenue Officer, Tony Van den Zegel is responsible for all revenue-generating departments at iText, including the Global Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams. He started at iText in 2014 as the Director of the APAC division, where he significantly grew business revenue in the Singapore offices, before becoming the Vice President of Growth Strategy.

Chief Technology Officer, Raf Hens, joined iText in 2012 as senior software engineer, later becoming director of engineering, overseeing the technical and product roadmaps of the iText technology. He set up the new product management department, where under his leadership, iText launched its very first diversified product, iText DITO.

Chief Financial Officer, Jacob Quartier, is newly responsible for leading iText’s overall global financial activities, as well as organization operations. Prior to joining iText, Quartier held senior finance roles at Showpad and Nuance Communications, where both companies enjoyed periods of hypergrowth, which led to Quartier’s important role in many funding rounds and M&A transactions.

As Chief People Officer, Olivier Van den Broecke will oversee global HR and be the driving force for iText’s Human Capital strategy, ultimately helping to safeguard iText’s distinguishing culture of continuous growth and positive engagement of all employees. With a wealth of experience in human resources management, he’s led and implemented HR projects for several renowned international companies, such as Johnson & Johnson, BNP Paribas Fortis, and General Motors.

This announcement follows additional recent momentum from iText, including recently being named a top ten open-source solution provider for 2020 by enterprise solutions magazine, CIO Review. The publication’s annual review chooses the year’s top open-source solution providers that empower developers to share and learn through collaboration, selecting the ones at the forefront of delivering innovation.
