You can browse the examples of "iText in Action - 2nd Edition" on these pages. Please understand that the book isn't finished yet; this is a work in progress, and some examples might not compile. If you think there's a problem with one of the files please contact the iText team on the iText mailing list.
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER CHANNEL; DO NOT CONTACT THE DEVELOPERS PERSONALLY.Note that These examples won't work with iText versions earlier than iText 5.
If you want to have the examples on your local file system, you can download four tar balls:
- lib.tar.gz: The libraries needed to compile and run the examples (note that the iText.jar is not included).
- resources.tar.gz: The resources needed to compile and run the examples: images, databases, PDF files,...
- results: An empty tree for the results. When you run an example, a PDF file will be created somewhere in this directory structure.
- src: The source code for the examples.
You can also download everything at once: book.tar.gz.
These are the free resources that come with the book. If you decide to use them, it is assumed that you have bought the book. If you post questions on the mailing list about these examples, you'll be referred to specific pages in the book.
