PDF Day Australia Image
Some of the iText team was part of the first PDF Day event in Australia. Besides enjoying our time down under, we were really impressed with the quality of the attendees and the event organization by the PDF Association. We and our partner MDS gave the event three thumbs up. (Left: Tony Van den Zegel - Director of Sales, APAC for iText, Middle: Sunny Long - Managing Director of MDS Pacific, Right: Raf Hens - Director, Product Management for iText) The event focused on the topics of archiving and accessibility. Our own Director of Product Management, Raf Hens, gave a talk on accessibility, on...
Last week we spent some time at DevoxxBE. Thanks for such a great show. We had fun with the iText minifigs and appreciated all of the great questions that were discussed in our booth. There are so many great ways that devs are using iText, and we love hearing about it. It was also a big event for two of our devs, Benoit and Michael, who filled an ENTIRE ROOM with their talk "Oops, I broke my API". If you want to join the fanclub, you can watch it from the comfort of your own home , or at the Hackerspace conference “Newline...
Eurostaff, a recruitment specialist, recently conducted an interview with iText founder and CSO Bruno Lowagie . In it, Bruno explains the best practices for developers who pull code snippets from StackOverflow to use in their own projects. What are the legal ramifications? How do you best attribute your source? From the interview: "The Stack Exchange Network interprets ‘attribution’ in a fantastically complicated way, written in legalese that even educated people have trouble...

While you’re making PDF files and an error occurs, tracing where the problem is can be hard. That’s why we have developed the pdfDebug add-on for iText 7. It allows you to view your PDF file’s internal content structure, content streams and allows you to browse the document in a logical manner – as it is being created. This practical tool is the first of its kind for PDF. What's even better: We're offering the add-on free of charge through the Eclipse Marketplace so you...
iText has again been nominated for the Deloitte Fast 50 in Belgium, and we are pretty excited about it. The Deloitte Fast 50 is a list of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Belgium, and is a coveted list that we have been part of consistently since 2013. Last year we even placed 2nd! The nominees were announced by Deloitte yesterday, and winners will be selected...

Today, OSCON (Open Source Convention) London 2016 has started, and iText is there! You can find us at booth #212 and drop by for a quick chat. As a company that grew from the open source community and still offers its flagship product that way under the AGPL license, we have not forgotten what made iText such a great PDF engine in the first place - its dedicated user base. We'll be on hand at OSCON to answer your questions about iText or discuss further developments with and within the open source community. Also, get to know our army of Lego minifigs...
