Spring is here, and so is a new quarterly release of the iText PDF SDK. For this release of the open-source iText Core PDF library and the add-ons in the iText Suite, we’re proud to announce the release of iText Core version 8.0.0 – aka iText 8.
In this latest release, Core will open documents faster and be more resilient to malformed PDFs. We’ve also widened its support of CCITT-compressed TIFFs, and improved the paragraph text wrapping. There’s also support for the CSS vertical-align property in pdfHTML, and improvements and bugfixes across the rest of the Suite.
Following our mainline release of iText 7 Suite 7.2.4 at the end of October, this is a maintenance release for our 7.1.x users. Included are some CVE fixes and backports from 7.2.x, and updated versions of pdfSweep and pdfXFA.
New for this release is the pdf2Data Manager, which makes it even easier for users to extract and reuse the data in PDF documents. Read on to learn more about our enhancements to the user experience, template management, and collaborative workflows.
